Odisha Vigilance

Today i.e on 8.2.2024, short while ago, Sri Bikash Kumar Senapati, Accountant, O/o Block Education Officer, Puri has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000/- from a Complainant (retired teacher) for issue of NOC to release his gratuity.The teacher had retired from Govt service in May-2022. Since his retirement, he had been requesting Sri Senapati, Accountant to issue NOC in his favour to get his gratuity. However, Sri Senapati, Accountant was demanding bribe Rs.5000/- to issue NOC in favour of the retired teacher. Finding no other way, he(retired teacher) informed about his harassment to the Vigilance Authority. Accordingly, Sri Senapati, Accountant was nabbed by the Vigilance team today, while accepting demanded bribe Rs.5,000/- from the retired teacher. The entire bribe amount has been recovered and seized from the possession of Sri Senapati . Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Senapati from DA angle. In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS case no 4/2024 u/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered.Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Senapati, Accountant.
