Sri Subhakanta Swain, Section Officer, Office of the Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation

Today ie on 14.12.2023, short while ago, Sri Subhakanta Swain, Section Officer, Office of the Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation, Bhubaneswar has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting *bribe Rs.8,000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand)* from a Complainant for processing the application of his brother and issuance of the contractor license. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Sri Swain, Section Officer from DA angle. Further, Rs.14990/- has been recovered from office drawer of Sri Swain and Rs.5500/- from his personal search so far. In this connection, Bhubaneshwar Vigilance PS case no. 35/2023 U/s 7 PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered.Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Swain, Section Officer.
